Let me share a story with you -
This quote about warriors has resonated with me for a long time. Following a life-altering motorcycle accident two years ago, I used this quote to find lessons and positives in my situation.
Now, 2 years later, I have had the chance to establish my own private play therapy practice. It was only fitting to incorporate "warriors" into the name. The children I work with each day face their own challenges, and through play therapy, they can navigate these challenges and emotions in their own unique way. They have a safe space to play, learn, and overcome their challenges. (The original quote mentions "faults," but I preferred using "challenges.")
"Child-centered play therapy embodies a fundamental belief in the child's natural ability to grow and mature, fostering a deep trust in their capacity for self-direction." - Garry Landreth
With Gratitude,
Alison
Why rainbows at Little Life Warriors Play Therapy?
1. Rainbows symbolize inclusivity, a vibrant representation of our welcoming and diverse community where everyone belongs.
2. Just as rainbows require both sunshine and raindrops to form, we recognize that life's challenges and triumphs combine to create the unique beauty within each individual. We embrace the journey, learning from difficult days and celebrating the joyful ones, resulting in a stunning rainbow of personal growth.
3. Colour adds richness to our lives, and I'm passionate about celebrating individuality. Imagine a world without diverse hues - how dull it would be! Rainbows inspire us to embrace our distinct qualities and those of others, creating a kaleidoscope of experiences and connections.
In Gratitude,
Alison
At Little Life Warriors the playroom is thoughtfully and carefully arranged to provide for your child's unique accommodations and sensory needs. Overhead lighting or soft lighting can be utilized, the star lamp and rainbow lighting is particularly popular, and there is an option for natural light from the large window. Calming scents or no scent in the room, and the option for soft music. Different seating options in the room include soft matting, cushions, chairs and comfy lounges, the tent provides a safe, cozy space to regulate those big emotions. the tent has also been known as a house, school, jail, nest and fantastic hiding spot, its completely up to your child's imagination!
The toys in the playroom are selected for therapeutic purpose, there are toys to promote nurturing play, aggressive play, cooperative play, creative play and to build emotional intelligence. As Garry Landreth says in Play therapy: The art of the relationship. (2nd ed.). New York: Brunner-Routledge.
